ACI Marina Split
Why start from Split ?
25 min from the airport
A short, predictable transfer: even a Saturday-morning flight leaves time to provision before 5 pm boarding.
Islands within immediate reach
Brač is 9 miles out, the Pakleni 20: you are at anchor by the first afternoon. No other Adriatic base offers that ratio.
A huge, recent fleet
Split concentrates hundreds of boats under 5 years old: competition pulls prices down and standards up.

Practical info
Boarding
Saturday 5 pm at the ACI Marina, opposite Diocletian's Palace. Arrive early: Croatian technical briefings are famously quick, so ask all your questions.
Deposit
€1,500–4,000 depending on the boat. Local deposit insurance (€25–30/day) should also cover dinghy and outboard — read that line, it is what usually breaks.
Berths
Book Hvar, Korčula and the Palmižana buoys as soon as your week is fixed (ACI app / mySea). Free anchorages always remain as plan B.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a sailboat rental in Split cost?
From €1,800 (40 ft, June) to €3,200 (peak season) per week for a recent monohull; catamarans from €4,500. Split is highly competitive, so comparing a dozen listings often saves €400–600.
Split or Trogir as a starting base?
Both work — Trogir (SCT and ACI marinas) is 5 km from the airport and slightly cheaper; Split offers more boat choice and the city for your first evening. For a first Croatian charter we recommend Split.
Which documents do you need to charter in Croatia?
A licence recognised by Croatia (ICC or national equivalent) and a VHF radio certificate (SRC or equivalent). Croatia is strict about the VHF certificate — check yours before booking.
Can you reach Dubrovnik from Split in one week?
One-way, yes (some operators offer it for a fee); as a loop it is a 220-mile race that ruins the week. Our advice: save Dubrovnik for a one-way or a 10–14-day charter.
Is there a surcharge to sail to the Kornati?
No, but the national park charges entry (€40–60/day per boat). From Split, allow 2 days of delivery each way: the Kornati are more comfortably done from Zadar or Biograd.
When to book for a Croatian summer?
July–August books out between October and February if you want real choice. May–June and September are also in high demand in Croatia and deserve booking before March.
